As I remember Charles correctly, 100+kg on the flat bench to use bands/chains for results without wasting training tools/potentials...

Thanks Eric for your opinion on this! You think his style of training is anyways better than NO strength & conditioning training in his case (take gear out of equation)?

Danaher seems to be the key as even Nick Rod is very dominant (ADCC, Kasai...) at “only“ Highschool wrestling + less than 2 years in JJ...

Try Nordic Hamstring Curls... use your arms concentric if needed

Programming should be done with the goal in mind to perform best at the event/peaking performance at the end of the program!

Those army events are typically very aerobic demanding beside the stressors as sleep deprivation/ hunger/ tiredness / skill oriented and mentally taxing. As the aerobic component are the longest to build up (but they tend to decline slowly too) the base should be build now to have the options later to proceed on more difficult tasks. This can be done by performing the “easy” roadwork in a progressive style. If you are AD just do your job in a fashion like that. You can do your hypertrophy/strength work next to this.

    Hi Artur,

What is a "weak lower back" in case of your athletes? For Snatch Grip DL, from podium especially, your erectors need to be already pretty solid...?!?

THX Eric... are there any pros/cons or priorities (periodisation/peaking...) on vertical (Pull-Ups/Chins) vs horizontal pulling?

For my fighters I like this only in GPP if they’re above the BF% I want them to be at/below. So, that’s what Charles used to say: earn your Carbs!!!

Keep in mind, that you can't cut water from body fat, so the fighter/athlete should be in decent shape stepping into fight prep. I like BW max 15% above scale weight. Later the BF% must be relatively low going into the final phase of the prep (fight week).

7-10 days prior weigh-in you start the final procedures like water-load, carb-depletion, sodium restriction, hormonal balancing (Vasopresin, Cortisol), food intake -> finally emptying digestive track...
